About the film

A documentary exploring Leicestershire’s connections to the transatlantic slave trade and the wider legacy of slavery in Britain. The film brings national and global history into a local context through research, interviews and personal reflection.

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project invited young people and community members to take part in film production workshops at the Highfields Centre, alongside open debates on slavery, oppression and liberation.
